Equality for all.

I have been blessed with the most inspirational adults to admire. Seriously. I am in tears. These lovely people….

Always, always stand up for what they believe in. It doesn’t matter what the consequences are. I desire to have that kind of strength. The ability to look someone in the eye and tell them respectfully if I have a problem with something they just said. The ability to not allow others to look down on me; the power to stand up for myself and my beliefs. It astonishes me. These beautiful people in my life are being tormented and ridiculed because of reasons that should not matter at all. EQUALITY FOR ALL. I am sick and tired of seeing people I love being made fun of, discriminated against, and criticized. I admire these peers of mine for always doing what they KNOW is right.

I wish I had that strength. I often find myself hiding behind a brick wall I built in my mind… keeping all of my thoughts to myself. Hiding from the inevitable, destructive comments from others. I want to be more like these people in my life. I want to be able to say no, even if it means all my plans and money go down the drain. I want to be able to say yes, even if it means sacrificing part of life i love so dearly for the dreams I hope to fulfill.

As the great MJ once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

I am tired of people discriminating against others because of their beliefs and goals.  I believe in equality. I am going to fight for equality. I am going to make a difference.
